Classical vs. everything else
Classical Feng Shui is designed to be very close and personal.
Devoted individuals and groups were shaping this science for several thousand of years. Although they were passing this serious knowlegde mainly orally, by sayings and poems, fortunately some of the written material, so called ``Classics`` had survived the history.
Regretfully, method`s authenticity was somehow lost on it`s way to the West, being covered by the new age enthusiasm. I don`t mean to say that new age was bad, on the contrary.
Our way back to personal and authentic was initiated by the new age movement, and I am deeply thankfull for it`s existence.
But NOW, I believe it is the right time to make distinction between Classical Feng Shui and- everything else.
1. Field data vs. right and left
In CFS, the basis of all interpretation is field data. Sure, we can use our intuition, but we can not rely on it! Intuition can complement the knowledge, helping us to decide some border-line cases, or to invent the solution. BUT, compass is everything, we can not make up the compass reading. We have to be precise in our reading, but we also have to know WHAT is to be read! And we have to observe where we are, for Location is prime.
2. Knowledge vs. Free interpretation
In Classical Feng Shui, knowledge is everything. First Forms than Formulas, and from Formulas back to Forms. The Knowledge is systemic, huge and holistic. There are exceptions, of course, but the rules do prevail.
3. Personal vs. General
In CFS, we favor Personal. General points are OK, but Personal is what matters. So we want details about Location and the Client. We appriciate his uniqeness, as well as as the uniqueness of the Location.

BEGINNING...
Classicaly Feng Shuied
I have recently found the data that there are more than four hundred books covering the Feng Shui subject, all around the world.
I believe that a lot of them are written by the serious researchers and-or practitioners. But some authors are definitely using the method’s popularity to cover some other subjects, side by side with Feng Shui name (crystals, symbols, New Age concepts & beliefs, Bach floral essences, even UFO’s...).
No doubt that all those methods work. But a lots of people, laypersons as well as practitioners, are dazed and confused by the mixture presented. They can not separate Authenthic Feng Shui method from the derived ones; how could they?
Luckily, in the last couple of years the Classical Feng Shui concept slowly started to emerge in the West, and we are getting back to the Basis: Location and Long Term Effects.
Imagination & Confusion are out, Systemic Knowlegde is IN, again.
